There are so many things to do and see here in Northumberland it’s impossible to list them all, but here are a few of the ones we feel are worthy of a mention – and a link!

ALNWICK GARDEN – One of the areas newest and brightest attractions. Acres of fascinating plants, water sculptures and our infamous Poison Garden, for a start. Not to mention one of the world’s largest wooden tree houses. It’s a wonderful garden, and an even better day out.
COQUET SHOREBASE TRUST – A community based watersports centre in Amble, just a few miles down the coast. It is an official teaching establishment for both the British Canoe Union and the Royal Yachting Association which are the governing bodies for kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and powerboating.
DUNSTANBURGH CASTLE – A breathtaking massive ruined castle just to the north of Craster, only a short walk away. Use this link to the National Trust website to search for details of opening hours.
HOLY ISLAND or LINDISFARNE – A short drive to the north will bring you to the beautiful Holy Island also known as Lindisfarne. The cradle of Christianity in England and home of St Aidan. Visit the Castle, the ruined Priory or just have a walk around the island, harbour and village – but BEWARE THE TIDE as it is cut off from the mainland twice a day by the North Sea!
VISIT ALNWICK – A very informative site covering many of the things to do and places to see in and around our beautiful area.
